Nearly 50 VMNC members and their partners assembled in two groups on a breezy but beautiful June mid-day on the magnificent grounds of Government House, the official residence of the Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia.
On 20th June, we joined the Victoria Men's and Newcomers Club tour of Government House Gardens and then House organized by Glenn Soares. For the Garden Tour we were divided into groups of 10 and we had the Head Gardner, Valerie Murray, as our leader.
In conjunction with the astronomy visit at the University of Victoria on May 15, 2017, we had lunch at the Lemongrass Restaurant. Since we were a large group we had the private upstairs room. We have all experienced dining at a restaurant in a large group and usually expect to be disappointed with the food and the service.
