The East Sooke Park hike began at 9am at the Pike Road parking lot at the west end of the park.
Ten hardy hikers trekked the Anderson Cove trail to the Coppermine trail, then down to the Coast trail and finally reached Pike’s Point for lunch.
It was a picture perfect day as we experienced a rain forest, an abandoned copper mine and gorgeous Juan de Fuca vistas. Two geologists and a forester kept the group entertained with information about the local terain and surroundings. The validity of those details will be contested for some time to come.
The consensus was we had a good hike, no injuries and lots of fun.
