On Nov 19, after a long sojourn, your humble scribe joined the Hiking Group for a beautiful hike through coastal East Sooke Park and the subsequent rewarding Pub Lunch at 17 Mile Pub.
8 hardy souls braved the hike organized and led by Hiking Coordinator Don Fedora, the only wild life seen was a single Bald Eagle. Snacks were consumed at the Trap Shack, a local land mark normally only seen when fishing for salmon offshore.
The Trap Shack was one of many on south Vancouver Island’s coast used to house work crews trapping salmon, read about it here.
After the hike a nice Pub Lunch with a rewarding drink was held at 17 Mile Pub.
The Hiking Groups homepage its here, they have weekly Tuesday Morning hikes throughout the year.
Thanks for the hike, John Pierce.
